OBJECTIVE
A short-term, measurable, specific activity having a time limit or timeline for completion. Objectives specify who, will do what, under what condition, by what standard, and within what time period.

OCCUPATIONAL EXTENSION (OE)
Occupational extension courses are noncredit courses offered through Corporate and Continuing Education. They consist of single courses, each complete in itself, designed for the specific purposes of training an individual for full- or part-time employment, upgrading the skills of persons presently employed, and retraining others for new employment in occupational fields. Occupational extension courses generate FTEs with limitations. See N.C. Administrative Code Subchapter 2D .0325 and Subchapter 2E  01.01 and .0402.

OE

OFF CAMPUS
Any location off a CPCC campus where CPCC offers classes.

ONLINE
Able to communicate with another computer.

OUT-OF-STATE STUDENT
A legal resident of a state other than North Carolina, or a legal resident of a foreign country.

OUTCOME
Benefits for people: changes in knowledge, ability, values, position, skills, behavior, or status. More simply stated, outcomes are typically what service providers hope recipients achieve once they complete a program or receive services.

OUTCOME EVALUATION
Assessment of the overall objectives or product of a program, treatment or intervention. The benefits to an individual who completes a program or service.

OUTCOME INDICATOR
Usually referred to as a key indicator, this is that data set, or set of statistics that best verifies the accomplishment of a specific outcome. An outcome indicator for college readiness might be an SAT score of 1100 or above. It is typically the accomplishment of a specific skill or assessment at a certain level that indicates an outcome is met.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE
A short-term, measurable, specific activity having a time limit or timeline for completion related to a specific outcome.

OUTCOME TARGET
The benchmark set as a performance indicator for a given outcome. An example would be that 80% of students would score a 75% or above on a reading assessment. The outcome target would be “80% of students.”

OVERCASH ACADEMIC AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The largest building on Central Campus has a traditional facade facing Kings Drive and the Sugar Creek Greenway. It was named to honor Christa and Reece A. Overcash, college benefactors. The Overcash Center houses the Halton Theater, Tate Recital Hall, the Elizabeth Ross Gallery, program offices, classrooms, a student center, a restaurant, and Student Life offices. OVERLOAD
Additional teaching assignments by an instructor for extra pay or additional classes of a student beyond 18 credit hours.
