WDB
The Workforce Development Board (formerly the Private Industry Council) is a
24-member board of private sector and public sector representatives charged
with providing policy, planning, and oversight for workforce initiatives such
as JobLink Centers, in-school youth and out-of-school youth using funding
from the Workforce Investment Act and Welfare to Work.

A limited, yet powerful
web application access to the Colleague software that is used by all
employees and students.
Network account (SNAP) is needed to access this over the web. Software
is provided by Datatel.
WILDLIFE HABITATS
As of June 2008 five of CPCC's six campuses have been certified
as National Wildlife Habitats
by the National Wildlife Federation.

WORD
Documents are
commonly produced by faculty in Microsoft's Word word processing
application. These are quite common in online courses and throughout
CPCC's web sites. A
free "viewer" plug-in that allows users to view Word documents
without having the software installed on their system is available
through the downloads area of the Microsoft website.

Workplace Literacy, also known as
Workplace Basic Skills, is any customized
program provided to business and industry on-site. Programs include
upgraded basic skills, English as a Second Language, and GED preparation.
