The classification system groups into identifiable job classes
or grades those positions having comparable types of
duties and responsibilities and requiring similar types of
knowledge, skills, and abilities and designates an appropriate
job title for each grade. A salary range is assigned to each
job class based upon the following factors: required
knowledge, skills, and experience; complexity and creativity;
impact on institutional mission; internal and external
contacts; direction exercised; physical demands and working
conditions. Brief descriptions of the responsibilities
of the line administrator job classes are located in Section 3.04 of this manual. Complete job
descriptions for all
positions are housed in the Human Resources Department.
