Classifications |

A. College
President |
 |
The President
plans, organizes, and directs the overall administrative and academic activities and
operations of the College; advises and assists the College Board of Trustees; and
represents the interests of the College with other levels and agencies of government,
educational entities, businesses, and the community at large. |
 |
The President
receives policy direction from the College Board of Trustees and exercises direct or
indirect supervision over all College personnel. |
 |

B. Executive Vice
President |
 |
The Executive Vice
President provides highly complex and responsible staff assistance to the College
President and acts on behalf of the President as a representative of the College in
matters and decisions as requested. |
 |
C. Vice President |
 |
A vice president
plans, oversees, organizes, and directs one of the College's three major program units:
the Instruction unit; the Administrative Services unit; or the
Enrollment Management and Student Services unit. The vice president
ensures that assigned functions fulfill federal, state, and College goals and objectives
and meet the needs of the student population through periodic evaluation of functions and
a program of performance appraisal. The vice president provides highly complex and
responsible staff assistance to the College President and Board of Trustees. He/she
receives general administrative direction from the College President and exercises direct
supervision over managerial, professional, technical, and clerical staff. |

D. Associate Vice
President |

An associate vice
president plans and manages the operational and budgetary activities of a
group,
coordinates assigned activities with other groups, departments, and outside agencies
and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to a vice president. |

E. Assistant Vice
President |
 |
An assistant vice
president plans and manages the operational and budgetary activities of several
groups/divisions
and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to a vice president. |
 |
F. Dean |
 |
A dean plans,
organizes, and directs the activities of a group comprising several education or
educational support departments/divisions and programs. The dean ensures that departments
and programs assigned to the group comply with College standards, policies, and
procedures; periodically evaluates the performance of assigned divisions, departments,
programs, offices, and personnel; and coordinates assigned activities with other College
groups. The dean receives administrative direction from a vice president and exercises
direct and indirect supervision over personnel assigned to the group. |

G. Assistant
to the President/Assistant to the Vice President |

An
Assistant to the President and/or Vice President assists in planning,
overseeing, organizing and directing major functions.
These positions provide complex and responsible staff
assistance to the President and/or Vice President.
They may plan and manage operational and budgetary activities. |

H. Associate Dean |
 |
An Associate
Dean plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a few education or education
support departments/divisions and programs. The associate dean ensures that the assigned
programs comply with College standards, policies, and procedures; periodically evaluates
the performance of assigned divisions, programs, offices, and personnel; and coordinates
assigned activities with other College groups. The associate dean receives administrative
direction from a vice president or dean and exercises direct and indirect supervision over
assigned personnel. |

I. Assistant Dean |

An assistant dean
supports the dean by performing assigned duties. |
 |
J. Manager |
 |
A manager plans,
organizes, and directs the activities of a group comprising several institutional support
departments and offices. The manager ensures that departments and offices assigned to the
group comply with College standards, policies, and procedures; periodically evaluates the
performance of assigned departments, offices, and personnel; and coordinates assigned
activities with other College groups. The manager receives administrative direction from a
vice president and exercises direct or indirect supervision over the professional,
administrative, and technical staff within the group. |

K. Director,
Division Director |
 |
A
director/division director assumes significant management responsibility
for the major function or educational program of study comprising a
department/division, and |
 |
1. Assumes
responsibility for program development, management, and evaluation. |
 |
2. Assumes
responsibility for the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and
priorities. |
 |
3. Assumes
responsibility for the preparation and administration of a program budget. |
 |
4. Assumes
significant responsibility for a variety of personnel activities including
performance appraisals,
training, selections, and disciplinary actions. |
 |
5. Exercises direct
supervision over personnel within the division/department. |
 |
L. Supervisor,
Coordinator |
 |
A supervisor or
coordinator has overall responsibility for a work unit within a department/division or
group, and |
 |
1. Plan, assign,
direct, and review the work of subordinates in the assigned academic support office or
instruction-related program. |
 |
2. Assist in
program development and management. |
 |
3. Assist in budget
development and administration. |
 |
4. Assume
responsibility for effectively recommending a variety of personnel actions in such areas
as performance appraisal, training, selection, transfers, and disciplinary measures. |
 |
5. Perform
difficult and complex work. |
 |
A supervisor plans,
organizes, and supervises the activities of an assigned institutional support office,
receives direction from a director or manager, and exercises direct and indirect
supervision of staff. |
 |
A coordinator
plans, organizes, and supervises the activities of an assigned instructional or education
support program, receives direction from a director, division director, associate dean, or
dean, and exercises direct and indirect supervision of staff. |
