5.01 Credit from Other Institutions and Agencies

I. Regulations

 

A. Credit will be granted for courses, which apply to a program and are completed with a grade of   "C" or better in residence, extension, and correspondence divisions of regionally accredited institutions including the Community College of the Air Force.  These courses must be equivalent to courses offered in the Common Course Library.

 

B. Credit will be granted for work completed in military service schools in accordance with recommendations in the most recent edition of A Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services, published by the American Council of Education.

 

C. Credit will be granted for USAFI subject examinations on which a percentile score of 25 or higher has been attained for subjects applicable to the student's program. 

D. Credit may be granted for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exam scores.

 

E. Credit will be granted for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) according to the guidelines published in the College catalog.

 

F. To receive a degree, a student must earn a minimum of 21 semester hours in residence at Central Piedmont Community College. This requirement may be waived if completed courses are through a collaborative agreement; otherwise, approval of the appropriate dean is required.

 

G. The Transcript Analyst and program counselors are responsible for transcript evaluation and official acceptance of credits from other institutions and agencies.
