Book Buy-Back

Scheduled buy-backs

The Bookstore will buy used textbooks from students during regular store hours:

During exam week, the Bookstore has an expanded hour scheduled.
Buy-back buys daily

Mon - Thurs. from 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m .

NOTE: Specific times are widely advertised in school publications, on CPCC TV, and posted throughout the Central Campus.

Locations

At the beginning of the term, book buy-backs are held in the lobby of Taylor Hall.

Factors in pricing

The following factors affect the purchase or buy-back price of a book:

Change of edition
Change of required books for a class
Books may have filled-in blanks and not be reusable
Store may be presently overstocked with book
Condition of book

Buy-back price

Books purchased for resale in the Bookstore are bought at one-half the current list price, and other books not needed by the Bookstore are purchased at prices set by used book wholesale companies.

Wholesale books

Books purchased at wholesale (below 1/2 price) become inventory of the wholesale company and are shipped to their facility.

ID required

Students must present CPCC student I.D. card or valid driver's license when selling their books.
