I want to thank everyone who played a part in the successful ArtsFest event held last week at CPCC. This week-long celebration of the creative arts was an opportunity for our College to shine.
More than 2,000 participants had an opportunity to experience an extraordinary array of literature, music, visual arts, history, and cultural events on our beautiful Central Campus. I was extremely impressed with the number of students who participated in the festival, and I want to personally thank our faculty for the vital role they played in making this event a success. I’m so proud that we could host what I believe is becoming one of the finest celebrations of the arts in Charlotte.
Employee Health and Fitness Day May 15
National Employee Health & Fitness Day™, administered annually by the National Association for Health & Fitness, encourages employees to become active and healthier. At CPCC, Professional Development and the Spirit Committee are sponsoring CPCC’s second annual
Employee Health and Fitness Day on Thursday, May 15.
CPCC Employee Health Fitness Day will be a festive, noncompetitive series of health and fitness events in which employee participation is encouraged but voluntary. On this day, numerous departments, services, and programs will facilitate various events between 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on the Central Campus Quad. In addition, the Spirit Committee has agreed to provide nutritious snacks. Professional Development credit will be available for those who participate in learning activities.
I hope that you will dress appropriately, allowing you to participate in activities including yoga, dance, stretching, volleyball, and walking relays. Take some time on May 15 to exercise, learn, and show your spirit with your co-workers!
Dr. Tony Zeiss
CPCC has a new registration process, and we need the help of faculty and staff to inform students about these changes. Although we will be reaching students in various ways, information that students receive in the classroom about priority registration will undoubtedly have the most impact.
Instructors will soon be receiving priority registration information cards to give to students, along with some answers to questions that may be asked.
Our combined efforts to inform students about this change will help to ensure their success during this new process. Thank you for sharing this information with your students, and together we can help them Get There!

To Jeff Friar and Jeff Fair, Facilities Services, from Betty Baker, Levine administration:
“I just wanted you both to know what a great job John Martinez is doing at the Levine Campus. John always does his work with precision and pride and is always pleasant and courteous. For example; we needed a lot of furniture moved around between several rooms. It was agreed that this would happen over spring break. As diligent as John is, he started moving furniture a few days before spring break. John made this move happen and when he finished, the rooms were absolutely perfect. He is a great asset to this campus, and we are so proud to have him located here. Thanks for a job well done!”
