On Thursday, May 29, at 6:00 p.m. at the Government Center, the county commissioners will hold a public hearing on the 2008-2009 budget. CPCC requested $28,346,487 for the 2008-2009 operating budget; however, the county manager at this time has recommended $26,274,542. Although we understand the budget constraints our county is operating under during tough economic times, these funds are desperately needed to maintain CPCC’s facilities, provide security, and address inflation costs for utilities, etc.
At the budget hearing on Thursday, Dr. Tony Zeiss, Board of Trustees Chairman Ralph Pitts, and CPCC student leader Eugene Kaplan will speak on behalf of the CPCC budget at 6:33 p.m. We also need CPCC students and employees to attend and show their support of the College and the budget request.
We are asking employees to join us at the Government Center before 6:00 p.m. to hold signs during the public hearing in support of CPCC.
If you have questions or plan to attend, please contact Jerri Haigler at 6660.
Do you have any personal or library-owned materials that you would like to place on reserve for the summer session? If so, we ask that you bring items to the designated library as soon as possible to ensure that your request can be completed in a timely fashion.

§ To Jeff Friar, Facilities Services, from Dale Callan, American Academy of Applied Forensics, North Campus:
“Jason Guffey and I extend our sincere appreciation and compliments to a super job by Johnny Mosley and Ray Paskell from your Facilities Staff. They put in additional power and outlets in our new Crime Scene Photography classroom- CJ 120. The power strips look terrific and they worked hard with having to go through additional walls and other obstacles in getting this job done. The job was accomplished in a timely manner in preparing this room for our big conference next week. Both men were personable and professional and are a credit to your staff and Central Piedmont Community College.”
