Faculty Internship ProgramCentral Piedmont Community College is committed to preparing students for the workplace so they may be prepared to compete in a global economy. In order to meet the education and employment needs of its students, faculty will need to remain current with the skills and competencies that are required in the workplace. Faculty will need to help students make the connection between what is learned in the classroom and these skills. Internships (in the workplace) are the way for faculty to explore real world applications and apply them to course curriculum and teaching strategies. Likewise, the business community is equally concerned about the preparation and quality of our students and graduates who are entering the workforce. In order to have access to potential employees who have the skills and competencies that employers expect, the business community is supporting faculty who are interested in learning about workplace skills and new knowledge required for effective instruction. The overall goal of the Faculty Internship Initiative is the improvement in the quality of CPCC student who are entering the workplace. Faculty members have the opportunity to design their own internship program. Faculty participating in a faculty internship will be provided a small stipend.
