Experiential Leadership

CPCC recognizes that a generation of community college leaders will soon retire, and the need for trained leaders is growing.  This program is a year-long in-depth leadership training opportunity that is open to employees in the Charlotte Area Educational Consortium.  Attendees must be nominated by a supervisor and have participated in at least one leadership training experience prior to entering this series of activities. Each individual will design his/her own personal leadership development plan and submit it to CPCC’s Center for Leadership and Staff Development.  Activities in the plan might include COLORS personality assessment, 360 degree leadership skills’ assessment, visits with community college administrators, visits with university and college administrators, job shadowing, information on advanced degrees, participation in an outside leadership conference, assistance with existing leadership activities at CPCC, and reading books on leadership. Completion of a leadership project is a requirement to receive a certificate.

Names of completers will be entered into a data base for future reference.

Registration for this program will be every August and January. A small fee will be charged to individuals who are not employees of CPCC.
