(back to top)7-18-2006. Computer Conversion Progress. The primary migration of the student system on Datatel was completed on July 10, 2006. Registration, including web and telephone, is now operational through Datatel, and we have been successfully registering students. During this first two days approximately 2040 students registered. Some instructors have also used the system to enter their grades for summer courses.
We were able to work through a few minor issues and continue to address these as they come up. We will be continuing to update the websites for both students and employees with pertinent information, so please continue to review the website for most current information.
Presently we are aware of two issues/misunderstandings we would like to clarify:
Feedback from the college community is welcome and should be directed to the help desk at 704-330-5000. We thank you for your continued patience, and join us in our celebration for this major accomplishment.
(back to top)6-29-2006. SNAP Changes Advisory. As part of the Datatel migration and our continued efforts to improve the services we offer to the College, Information Technology Services will soon be releasing changes to the SNAP application and processes. These changes will make acquiring a SNAP account quicker for students and merge the functionality of the employee network account manager into the SNAP application. When these changes are released, both student network accounts and employee network accounts will be referred to as SNAP accounts (more specifically, "student SNAP account" and "employee SNAP account" respectively).
It is important to note that the new Datatel system requires students to have their SNAP account before it will allow them to use any personalized online services such as registration, drop/add, financial aid, grade view and others. For more details on how students may be affected by these changes, see Current Students or New Students & Applicants.
Employees will continue to use the online account request form to request their SNAP account. However, they can manage their account using the new SNAP application. Employees who also take, or have taken, classes at CPCC will still have a separate student SNAP account. We hope to update the online account request form for employees in the near future.
The new SNAP application will be released in the first week of July and will continue to be located at snap.cpcc.edu. For a peek at the new SNAP application, along with the new mycollege (WebAdvisor) application, check out these demonstrations.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ITS helpdesk.
